Okay, I’m such a nerd, but Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I prepare for it the way suburban moms prepare for Christmas – with weeks of planning and decorating and parties and traditional meals and ritual activities. So far I’ve kicked off the month with a pumpkin waffle brunch with the girls, and a costume party (part of NY Comic Con). I love an excuse to get dressed up, and if there’s dancing involved – yes, please!
I’m also currently rehearsing a show that goes up in the middle of November. I have this teeny, but juicy little part, and although it’s a dark play, I’m having a great time. Fall is all about new adventures, eh? I am actually trying several new things this season: a new apartment, a new neighborhood, a new course to teach, and some new people in my life. New can be scary, but it’s exciting too. I sort of like being a little bit scared. Maybe that’s why Halloween is so much fun for me.
