Summer Vacation

AND…we’re back! school starts up again tomorrow. This is set to be my busiest semester ever. I will be teaching at FOUR schools with a total of 10 classes. It’s not so bad – no more than three class meetings per day. That’s doable, right? This year I kicked off an amazing summer with a three-week trip to Greece. The highlights include donkey “taxis,” fresh seafood, and the cliff tops of Meteora.

The insane part of my summer was where I became the Performing Arts Coordinator at St. John the Divine and I created and directed a show for 160 kiddos. I have never worked so hard in my entire life. It was good for me, and it pushed me to dust off and use skills from college I’d long forgotten about, but I thought I was going to die. Thankfully, I didn’t die, which brings us up-to-date.

School starts tomorrow. I have mixed feelings about this. Part of me is always excited to get back into the classroom. I honestly missed it. However, I also will miss having free time and just sort of seeing where the day takes me. Well, It’s time to be a responsible grownup again. Especially since I’m moving to a new apartment next week down on 34th street and 10th Avenue. It’s quite a bit more expensive than my current pad, but I’m looking forward to exploring a new neighborhood. Thankfully, my overloaded class schedule should pay for my newly added expenses, along with some travel fare. I will power through the difficult days by daydreaming about my next adventure.
