In Thirteen days I will be in France! Yes, next Thursday I am taking off for the rest of the summer to study at the Universite de Technologie de Compiegne in Northern France. I’ll probably be ridiculously lonely and homesick after the first week or so, but hopefully I will pick up some French.
In the meantime, I’m actually teaching a French class. I figured the best way to learn something is to teach it to someone else. 🙂 Sounds daunting, right? It’s actually not that bad. Teaching a beginner-level language class means you start with introductions, assign everyone a French name, count to ten, and learn the alphabet. Stuff like that. We’re halfway through the course. I’m completely exhausted, but still keeping up.
One thing I’m looking forward to about my trip: cheese! Every day! Hard cheese, stinky cheese, soft cheese, mellow cheese. I love them all. My friend Andria and I split this Rosemary Asiago a few weeks back. It’s a low key Italian cheese, but the rosemary gave it a nice kick.
