I had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my family in Seattle. It’s so restful to go home and sort of be a kid again. I feel very blessed to have grown up in a home where my parents loved all of us, and each other, unconditionally.
Speaking of love, I’ve been a notorious pumpkin pie hater ever since I was a kid, but I found a recipe that uses cream cheese instead of evaporated milk (which I didn’t have). I made these mini pies for dessert today, and I found them quite tasty. The texture is different than what I’m used to in pumpkin pie, more firm, which may be why I like them. Or perhaps my tastebuds are simply maturing in my old age :-).
